Management of Eyecare

The management team consists of members of staff at the Eye Pavilion and members of the public (patients, ex members of staff, friends). The group meets four times a year. Applications for funds are considered at these meetings and allocated on accordingly.


A wide range of staff are represented in the group including, Consultants, Nursing staff, Junior Doctors, Technical and Management. The Committee co-opts individuals with specific skills as required.


  • The Chairman leads the Eyecare management group
  • The Secretary keeps minutes of meeting, deals with correspondence and keeps a database of donations.
  • The Treasurer monitors finances and presents a statement of accounts at each meeting.
  • The Publicity Officer is responsible for leaflets, posters, website and production of newsletters.
  • A Patient Representative is a full-time member of the Committee.


The group works closely with Lothian Healthcare Trust where the funds are lodged and managed.

The Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion provides specialist care for the treatment and management of diseases and conditions affecting the eye and eyesight. Its high quality services include an Acute Referral Clinic, three theatres and two day care wards.
